Salamol Easi-Breathe is breath actuated inhaler which does not require the user to press to release a dose. It automatically releases a dose of the active drug salbutamol on inspiration.

What is Salamol Easi-Breath

Salamol Easi-Breathe is designed to make it easier for you to take a puff of your reliever. Unlike normal inhalers, it releases a dose of the active ingredient salbutamol automatically upon inspiration, which is particularly useful for those who struggle to coordinate their technique with regular mdi inhalers.

Salamol Easi-Breathe contains a medicine called salbutamol. This belongs to a group of medicines called fast acting bronchodilators. They work by:

  • Helping the airways in your lungs to stay open. This makes it easier for air to get in and out.
  • Helping to relieve chest tightness, wheezing and cough.

Salamol Easi-Breathe is used to treat breathing problems in people with asthma and similar conditions. This includes relieving and preventing asthma brought on by exercise or other “triggers”. These are things, which bring on asthma symptoms in some people. Common triggers include house dust, pollen, cats, dogs and cigarette smoke.

Salamol should not be used primarily to control your asthma symptoms, particularly if you require it regularly (more than three times a week).

How to use

If you are unsure about the correct technique, we strongly advise you familiarise yourself with this by clicking here and watching a short video.

  • to relieve asthma - One or two puffs.
  • to prevent asthma - Two puffs 10-15 minutes before exercise or exposure to a “trigger”.
  • for regular treatment - Two puffs up to 4 times a day when required.

The maximum dose is 8 puffs in a 24 hour period. It is important you separate each puff by around 30-60 seconds. If you require your inhaler more than this, it is important you see your regular doctor as soon as possible, as this may indicate worsening of your asthma and the need for changing of your current asthma treatment regime.
