Duac Once Daily Gel contains two active ingredients to help treat mild to moderate acne:
How to use
Duac should be used once a day in the evening. You should not use at the same time as other topical preparations. It can take 2-5 weeks before you start seeing the beneficial effects of Duac on your acne. You should assess your acne after 12 weeks and stop treatment if your acne has cleared. You may reuse it again if your acne returns.
As Duac contains an antibiotic, you should not use this in conjunction with any other antibiotic treatments for your acne (such as Zineryt or Lymecycline).
For more detailed information on how to apply Duac, please read the patient information leaflet at the bottom of this page.
As with any topical medication, you should always test on a small area of your skin to check for any unusual reactions.
You may experience some redness or irritation when using Duac, which may require you to use it less often. If irritation and redness is severe you should avoid using Duac.
You should avoid exposure of your skin to UV from sunlight as Duac can make your skin more sensitive. We advise protecting your skin, through clothing or sunscreens.
Duac can theoretically cause an upset stomach, as some of the antibiotic may be absorbed through the skin, however this is unlikely.
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
Duac should not be used in pregnancy or breastfeeding mothers.
